After leaving ElevenLabs a few weeks ago, I’ve had loads of people asking me what I’ve been up to and what’s next.
Fractional Growth Work
At both Encore and ElevenLabs, I really enjoyed finding ways to get more users, customers, or musicians through a funnel, a checkout, or a pricing page. Basically, I really enjoyed product-led growth.
I’ve been doing that with an AI company called Jack and Jill. They’re building two AI voice agents that help candidates and companies find each other. They’ve just raised $20 million to solve hiring, and there’s a lot of momentum and really smart people on that team.
Building with Claude Code
I’ve relearned how to code—or rather, I’ve relearned how to build products entirely on my own. I have become very good friends with Claude Code. I’m already on Anthropic’s Max Plan, and I’ve been amazed at what’s possible.
I’ve rebuilt this entire website and shared some new essays there. But I’ve also been prototyping more experimental projects:
Zwift AI Tactician
There’s a cycling game called Zwift, and I prototyped an AI voice agent using ElevenLabs and Claude’s Vision API that watches what’s happening during a race and tells me whether I should attack or conserve, whether I should use a power-up. Basically, giving anyone a tactician like they have in the Tour de France.
Piano Chord Visualizer
I built a 3D visualization where the app detects the chords you’re playing and shows constellations above the piano. Each note in the scale is a point in the constellation, and you get these really nice visuals as you play. It’s entirely HTML and JavaScript, all rendered in 3D.
Teaching Founders to Use AI
I’m giving a workshop next week at the Full Stack Founder course, showing the audience how to use Claude Code for non-coding tasks. I’ve found Claude Code to be absolutely incredible at so many tasks beyond writing code, and I’ll be sharing how I’m using it day-to-day.
Music: Album and Cello Sound Baths
Outside of work, I’m making a lot of music. I’m this close to releasing my first proper album called Sapphire.
I’ve also been getting reacquainted with the cello. A couple of weeks ago, I went to Wales on a retreat with about 50 other founders and led a cello sound bath using a loop pedal—recording layers of cello, stacking up luscious chords, and guiding a meditation alongside it.
Making Videos Again
This year I’ve rediscovered how much I love making videos. I uploaded my first video to YouTube in 2009 and have always enjoyed the creative aspect of telling a story or capturing music through video. The sense of flow you get when editing for four, five, six hours straight is very similar to producing music. It’s a satisfying activity if you haven’t tried it.
I’m going to make more videos about AI, growth, product-led growth, and music—basically things I find interesting. Hopefully some of it is helpful for you.
Am I Starting Another Company?
The second most common question I’ve been asked: “Are you starting a second company?”
The short answer is no, not right now. I’m enjoying this fractional growth work. I’m enjoying helping companies grow faster. I’m not starting a company right now, but ultimately… I will be.
