Harvard University + INSEAD just ran the first controlled experiment on whether AI training actually grows your business.

Harvard INSEAD AI Training Experiment: Revenue Results

They put 515 startups through a 3-month cohort-based accelerator to investigate this fundamental question:

“AI can deliver productivity gains on individual tasks, yet evidence on whether these gains aggregate to firm performance remains limited.

We study a central friction in AI adoption, which we call the mapping problem: discovering where and how AI creates value within a firm’s production process.”

Read the full study here: https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=6513481

Both groups got the same AI tools, the same API credits, and the same technical training, but…

• 50% were given bog-standard entrepreneurship training (control)
• 50% were shown case studies in how AI-native companies are operating (treatment)

The treatment group were given workshops, masterclasses and peer learning sessions focused on reorienting their businesses around AI and agents.

(Control got workshops too, but theirs covered generic entrepreneurship topics like ideal customer profiles and lean startup validation)

The results?

AI-trained startups in the experiment:
✅ complete 12% more tasks
🤝 are 18% more likely to acquire paying customers, and
🤑 generate 1.9x higher revenue

“Revenue and investment gains are largest at the 90th percentile and above, consistent with AI expanding the upper range of what firms achieve rather than modestly improving marginal ventures. Despite faster growth, treated firms do not scale inputs proportionally.

Their demand for external capital investment falls by 39.5% relative to the control group, while their demand for labor remains unchanged.”

Treated firms also found 2.7 more use cases than control, and across more business functions (not just deeper in one area).

The central finding is what the researchers called “the mapping problem”.

Giving your team access to AI without training isn’t enough to see gains. The bottleneck is discovering WHERE to deploy AI across your business.

And these gains weren’t limited to technical founders.

The difference in outcomes between technical and non-technical founders was statistically insignificant across every metric.

Non-technical teams benefited just as much. The constraint is cognitive, not technical.

If you’re non-technical and want to:

  1. Learn how to build and deploy agents across your business
  2. See how AI-native companies are operating in 2026
  3. Learn from a cohort of founders & companies going through the same AI transformation

then I think you’ll love my 4-week Agent Accelerator.

I wish I could, but I can’t promise you 1.9x revenue!

What I can promise is that you & your team emerge from the 4 weeks transformed, with an entirely new way of operating and growing your business.
